Whoo, student'd!

Sitting here in the food court by the student union, as it has wireless for UF students. The only place open is the Starbucks, which is fine by me, as I'm not looking to eat right now, and which was playing Elliott Smith when I walked in. That's got to be a good sign, right? Anyway, Jaime's orientation stuff started... approximately one minute ago, while mine doesn't begin until 11:30, so I've got some time to kill. Hooray for wireless, yeah? Now I just have to hope I can find the Brain Institute without too much hassle when the time comes. And that I don't scare off the other students a.k.a. my potential social pool. No awkwardness today, no sir! No sir. No... sir...

So what will happen to Pharos?

I suppose I've been pretty remiss in not blogging about P3P yet, so let's remedy that. Miiiiinor P3 spoilers follow. Nothing big, I promise.

Point 1: Minako. A female Persona protagonist. Awesome. Kyria pointed out that she doesn't have gray eyes like most recent Megaten protagonists - I knew something had been bothering me about her design, and I think that's it. A minor nitpick, but annoying nonetheless. Also, her hairpins are arranged as such: XXII It would've been so very easy to slip in an arcana reference there by just taking out one pin. Missed opportunity, guys.

Point 2: The repercussions of Minako. Male Elizabeth? Oddly appealing. I'm curious to see what this does to Pharos and Aegis as well, and most importantly, what of the social links? Could this mean dateable Junpei and Akihiko? But there are already social links for their arcana, and dateable Kenji sounds quite appealing as well. How about Yukari, Fuuka, and Mitsuru - will they just be friend social links? Or will there be inserted replacement links to make up for losing, say, Kenji and Hidetoshi in favor of Junpei and Akihiko? And if Junpei is dateable, will the whole Chidori thing still happen? Will there be sparks between Yukari and Jin instead?! Am I serious at all about that last question?!

Point 3: Some P4 mechanics. Hoo. Ray. Seriously. Control of party members and easier navigation are good things. It'll make a P3 playthrough after witnessing the glory of P4 quite a bit more palatable, at least.

Point 4: New difficulty levels. I'm still crying tears of blood thanks to the Tartarus bosses on Expert. Do I really need Maniacs level? ... Yes. Yes, I do. I suppose the random encounters and full moon bosses were still quite doable on first tries, so there's always that. Huh? Masochist? Me? No waaaaay.

Point 5: And now I have absolutely no excuse to not be saving for a PSP. As if Dracula X, Dissidia, and Persona weren't reason enough. Time to start sacking away change.
