The Top Ten Ways I'm an Attention Whore

One of the secrets on fandomsecrets today mentioned a top ten list of the worst slash pairings. I was curious, forgive me that, and I actually googled and found it. It is so biased and horribly reasoned that I'm not sure whether I should laugh my ass off or be pissed that this person's anywhere near fandom. Not only does he use a classic pointless argument against incest by asking, "Would you sleep with your brother?" (lol, missing the point), but he is also apparently unable to recognize affection in canon unless it's blatantly spelled out:

"I think the only reason Axel wanted Roxas to come back was so Xemnas wouldn't skewer him for it."

THAT'S your argument against Axel/Roxas? That Axel didn't actually care about Roxas? Because he's a nobody so he can't feel? Oh, come on! If you're going to bash the fangirls for ignoring canon, you should probably do your best to not contradict it either.

Edit: Holy crap. I read the rest of the countdown, and it was just. So. Flawed! General arguments based on your personal preferences do not a rebuttal of a pairing make. Try again later. No, wait, don't. Spare us any further dreck.

And this is why I dissapeared from fandom for a year.
People need to lighten up and realise that yaoi/yuri is the same as the gen or het that they hold dear to them. Equality bitches. We don't bash your het you don't bash our slash.

Plus anyone who criticises Akuroku is blind and deaf.
I mean HAAAAI blatent loving. That's why Axel was put in such a hard place. He had his duties and so on but then oh look it's Roxas. Roxas was always a special nobody with the circumstances, and who knows, maybe that can translate to other nobodys he got close to. Awaken it in them or something, so they remember how to feel. There is always one or two exceptions to a rule. It is a very open subject if you poke around with it and there is no concrete proof to back them up either, I wish they could see that.

We slash because it is plain fucking hot haha. Not because it is OMG MEANT2B~ Well. Sometimes. But a little more intelligent than that.

I don't know. Akuroku seems pretty canon to me. I mean, to me, Axel didn't give a flying fuck about what Xemnas or anyone else in the organization wanted. He wanted Roxas back for his own reasons. I really think he loved the little squirt, despite the fact that Nobodies aren't supposed to feel. Roxas certainly had feelings and a temper. If the only reason was for Xemnas, Axel would have made a half-assed try, then gave Xemnas some excuse about why ha couldn't get Roxas back.

Well, I'd best shut up for now.

That's pretty much my opinion. I interpret Axel's feeling towards Roxas as classical love, but I could see someone taking it as friendly or familial love. One way or another, he CARES greatly about Roxas, and to say any other than that is ignoring their canon interactions.
