Spoilicious.

So. In the past four days, I've discovered Firefly, become obsessed with Firefly, watched all of Firefly, and cried at Serenity. Oh my goodness. Want to know how I feel?

I feel angry. Really really angry. They killed my favorite character. Let me reiterate that, just to get across the point. They. Killed. My. Favorite. Character. What's with Joss and killing the funny characters in quick and violent ways? "I'm a leaf on the wind-" Impaled! And let's not forget Anya's blink-and-you-miss-it end in the last episode of BtVS. However, as sad as Anya's death made me, it cannot rival the loss of Wash. By killing Wash, you destroy a part of Zoe, and that's just cruel. Oh so very cruel. Before watching the movie, Mom asked me who it would upset the most if he/she died, and I answered, "Wash or Zoe." So who do they kill? Gorramnit, Wash! Argh!

Don't get me wrong, though; the movie was good. I liked the backstory for the Reavers, and it certainly made me like River more. Did anyone else catch how similar "River" and "Reaver" sound? I think that's kind of a neat touch. I did really enjoy the final scenes with Simon/Kaylee and Mal/Inara, especially the Simon/Kaylee one. That made me squee a little, before I saw Wash's dinos still on the controls and started crying again. *sighs* Joss, you sadistic asshole. You like to hurt us, don't you? It's like I was telling Erik, though - crying is the sign of a good show. If you care enough about the characters to mourn them when they die, then the show is doing its job.

I've also been getting a kick out of rewatching FMA with Erik and his friends. There's so much foreshadowing - it's absolutely brilliant. I'm going to have to go hug my Gundam Wing DVDs and gently let them know that they're number two now. Tell you what - watching the end of Conqueror of Shambala makes me go wibbly like none other. Well, at the very least, I haven't gotten that wibbly since the end of FF8.

I don't like Winry. I really really don't like Winry. When she took Ed's watch with the intention of disassembling it even after he'd told her not to, I quirked an eyebrow but let it slide. Everytime she yelled at them for getting into danger, when in reality it was unavoidable for them (Go hang out with Relena, you blind pacifist.), I gritted my teeth a little bit tighter. But when she yelled at them for cheating a cheater, set it up so that Ed's watch might be pawned, and then was pleased when the girl she was supposedly helping to feel better was defeated once more, I drew her smiling face on our door with a big red slash through it and informed everyone that they must be Anti-Winry to enter my abode. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed that she wasn't killed in the movie, but she is away from the Elrics once and for all, and that makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.

Besides that, I do love how the movie turns out. The series is so gut-wrenchingly tragic, but in the movie everything works out! Sure, some homunculi die, and Hohenheim and Heiderich bite the dust, but everyone else pulls through. That, my friends, is as happy an ending as I could ask for. Oh, and the brothers are together. Celebration time! Tough times may lie ahead for them, but they're strong, and together, they can handle anything. And didn't Al want to go on another journey again? Maybe everything's a blessing in disguise.

**End Spoilers**

You know, it's funny how different those two worlds work out. Firefly has a fairly happy series ending, and gets sad in the movie, whereas FMA ends tragically in the series, but makes amends in the movie. Intriguing.

Bleargh, I feel sick. I'm gonna go lay down now.
