I think I spend juuuust the right amount of time online.

You are 85% 4chan material.

You are the true face of 4chan. You're the type of person who finds racist jokes and sick humor hilarious, raids CoS, makes personal army requests whenever you see someone you dislike on Youtube, gets off to 5-year-olds, and calls Gamestop at 3 AM to ask for Battletoads. You scare me... and yet, I love you.

How 4chan are you?

Man, and I was totally honest too. I tried giving the best (read: most /b/tarded) answers I could as well and got a 95%, but the result was the same.

And now, because it took me this long to get over my utter failure from before and write this up again, The Interests Meme!

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along. Mine were chosen by [livejournal.com profile] terra.

1. Abandoned Pools

Back during freshman year of college, my friend Steve got the whole group hooked on the now defunct MTV series Clone High. Jaime decided that the theme song was so amazingly good that whoever played it would be his grand discovery. As it turns out, his instinct was spot on. The theme song is by Abandoned Pools, and he (as it’s really just one guy pulling all the strings) kicks indie rock butt. Check them out. Oh, and uh, once you've done that, join the fanlisting.

2. FlCl

The other Alex added, "Because SOMEONE needs to explain it to me." Fair enough. I didn't get it until I’d watched the whole thing a few times. At its core, FlCl is two things: a bizarre and surreal comedy, and a metaphor for puberty/growing up. If you can stomach the anime weirdness, you can find a surprisingly touching story underneath. On the other hand, if you can overlook the emotional story bits, you’ll find a hilarious trip of a show. Either way, it’s good stuff. Same deal goes here as with Abandoned Pools - join the fanlisting. :)

3. Jimmy Eat World

My favorite band. <3 I’ve seen them in concert twice, once at The Gorge at a Festival, and once at my college in a private concert. Both times were phenomenal. They tend to swing between beautiful songs of tragic love and upbeat, optimistic pop tunes. Either way, they do it better than the rest. One more time, now - give ‘em a listen and join the fanlisting.

4. Odie & Stitch

My ferret babies! Stitch is the rough n’ tumble, no holds barred type, while Odie’s more of a chubby-bellied cuddler. Somehow, it works out perfectly.

5. Squall + Rinoa = Love

As many of you may know, Squall and Rinoa are the main characters from Final Fantasy VIII and together make up my flagship. I was trying to come up with some way to include my one true, above all others, forever and always pairing in my interests that adequately conveyed my love for them, and it confounded me for a while. Squall/Rinoa is good but boring, and I hate squished pairing names, so Squinoa was never an option. Eventually, I turned to one of my other true loves for inspiration – math. Equations are ever so lovely. Plus, I think it gets the idea across pretty damn effectively.

6. Squidbillies

Did you know: Adult Swim’s lineup includes a show about hillbilly squids? Jaime and Steve saw Squidbillies before I did, and told me it was horrible. Like, worse than 12 oz. Mouse (which I kinda, sorta, halfway don’t hate now), which is saying a fucking lot. So bad, in fact, that I just had to watch it and be able to whine about it with them. Unfortunately for the boys, I laughed my ass off. How could anyone hate a show that includes a trademarked “Baby Deathtrap”, complete with ElectroMonkey? Jaime’s since come around to the dark side and cracks up at the new episodes every Sunday. Steve... well, I don’t think he ever gave it another chance. His loss.

7. William Blake

Random Alex Fact: You may think I’m the science bitch and accordingly am not interested in literature. You’d be wrong. I have this thing for gothic fiction and epic poetry, and oh, the British romantics! I cherish! Of the last group, William Blake just might be my favorite. His Songs of Innocence and Experience are both good introductory reads, fairly well known and with good reason. If you’re up for a heavier read, go for The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, or at the very least read the Proverbs of Hell. I dare you not to analyze those.

And that’s it! Be ready for my next couple posts: Death Note crack picspam, some thoughts on Gurren Lagann (and visual proof that Nia’s a dickhead) and Digital Devil Saga 2, and possibly some photos of my latest crafty and artsy endeavors. For tonight, I shall depart. Sweet dreams, all!
