what's that panther doing to that camel?!
alright, dream time!
dream number one: the nightmare
jaime and i are dressed up nicely and going out to an early dinner/lunch - it's still light out. we go to this very nice-looking cafe, much like the gotham cafe is described in "lunch at the gotham cafe" by stephen king. also much like the story, a waiter within the restaurant goes absolutely berserk and starts chasing people with a large cleaver. it is obscenely large, like pyramid-head or cloud strife style, and he hacks up many people thoughtlessly as he pursues me and jaime. we go running out of the restaurant and down the street. by now, it's dark, and we blindly run through alleys, hands clasped. eventually, the waiter catches up to us, and when he goes to strike me, jaime takes the blow. i scream and start running away, glancing over my shoulder only to see him killing jaime. over time, the waiter catches up to me too, and i just keep running and running, hearing the blade scrape over the ground behind me. when it seems that i can run no more and he's right on me, i wake up.
dream number two: the musical
this one may take a bit longer to describe. it starts with me heading across caltech campus, except it's not really caltech campus. i'm dressed in a nice flowy black skirt, a shirt which i don't really remember, and high heels. on my way, i run into some girls, including blair, i think, and we start following a large guy, who while i don't recognize from real life, is obviously a good friend in the dream. he reminded me of cameron a bit. another guy comes along, who is devilishly good looking, and all the girls flock to him. my friend looks dejected, but blair and i laugh, link arms, and continue following him. all the girls are in nice clothes, and these two men are in tuxedos, but the rest of the guys around are dressed normally. eventually, the other man and his harem follow along with us.
we turn the corner by ricketts hovse at the end of olive walk, but instead of the street, it's a large beautiful walkway leading to an auditorium with a giant stone fountain out in front. the guys start hopping down these little stepping stones in the fountain, and the girls all follow. someone shouts to me not to fall in, but i do, as do the other girls and the two guys. we're all laughing and having fun, and someone comments on how high my skirt is floating, which i respond to by pushing down the front marilyn monroe style. we climb out of the fountain and skip into the auditorium, at which point i am miraculously dry again.
the auditorium reminds me a bit of the performing arts center in anchorage. it has scarlet plush seats and antique stylings. i look up the rows and find cathy and steve sitting high up. i go up to where they are, and sit down in the seat they saved for me, a just-slightly-too-small-for-two-people couch set between them. jon shows up with popcorn and sodas for him and cathy, and sits on the other side of steve. some unidentified guy shows up and wants to sit next to me, but i block the couch, so he sits on steve's lap and leans over to talk to me. steve gets annoyed and moves down to the other side of jon.
at this point, i start to worry that jaime hasn't shown up yet. just then, he walks in with popcorn and sodas for me and him, and he squeezes onto the couch next to me, on the side nearest the stranger who took steve's seat. i scoot closer to him and cross our legs at the ankles, and he puts one arm around me. the show on stage begins, and some bright lights flash on, except they illuminate us as well as the stage. it's at this point that i look down at my lap and realize that under the stage lights, my skirt is pretty sheer. i can see the flowery tops of black thigh-high stockings through the fabric, and i giggle about it a little. jaime does too, and he makes some joking comment. i respond by giving him a kiss. and then i wake up.
so, yeah. the first one seems pretty self-explanatory, since i have read "lunch at the gotham cafe", but the second one confused me quite a bit. both of these are from last night, by the way.
any ideas/analyses?
