The political rundown.
I've been sitting here watching Colbert Report and Daily Show, thinking about the Penn & Teller: Bullshit! episodes Jaime and I watched yesterday, and I suddenly realized that I've never stated my political leanings in this journal. So here's a real quick list of my stances on various issues:
I support gay marriage. I support relationships of any sort between consenting adults, so long as it doesn't harm any external individuals. I do not believe in God, though I do believe there's something after death. I support the complete separation of church and state. I support a woman's right to have an abortion. I am against the death penalty, under any circumstance. I support the legalization of prostitution, as is done in Nevada. I also support legal gambling, as done in Nevada. I support the legalization of all recreational drugs, provided that they be regulated as alcohol is now. I am against affirmative action and reparations to descendents of those persecuted. I believe in equality regardless of gender, race, and sexual orientation. I don't believe in global warming as something unnatural to the earth. I support stem cell research. I support the use of lab animals for medical research. I am against the fur industry and recreational/trophy hunting. I believe that any domesticated animal should be legal to own as a pet, though mandatory licensing is justified in certain circumstances and locations. I support the right of the people to choose their government's structure and officials. I believe everyone should relax and not take "political correctness" seriously. And above all else, I believe in absolute, unabridged freedom of speech.
