Fandom!Non!Secret

Thanks to the "Paine is the only non-stereotypical FF girl" secrets on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets today and the responses listing various FF girls that aren't stereotypes, I found myself once again wanting to scream at the lack of Rinoa support. I even made up a secret about her, but you know what? It's not a secret.

P.S. Lulz to someone saying PAINE's the ONLY non-stereotype. Oh, and Kingdom Hearts is not a spin-off of Final Fantasy, 27 OP. Cameos in supporting cast != spin-off. Idiot.

Haha the last bit - SO TRUEE. I hate the fandom so much sometimes.
But a lot of love for her, I played VIII at 10 and I remember looking up to her because of her determination and yet softness.

We just got a Rinoa in DDD<3

She may be soft and feminine at times, but she's strong enough to push Squall around and we all know how thick-headed and stubborn he can be. She's also not Daddy's Little Girl, either.

As one of the three people on this planet who don't hate Rinoa, thank you for making this. Would you mind if I let myself be inspired and made a Tifa version of this?

Oh, and Kingdom Hearts is not a spin-off of Final Fantasy

Yes. But then, I never had any problem understanding this because, coming from the Transformers fandom, I'm used to the idea of "seperate continuities with seperate characters, even if said characters share a name and some basic concepts." KH Leon isn't FFVIII Squall any more than Armada Starscream is G1 Starscream. KH Aerith, much as the occasional "Why aren't you dead?" joke may be fun, isn't FFVII Aeri[s/th].

Go for it!

That's a good point about separate continuities. I'm mostly in video game and anime/manga fandoms, so I don't get as much of that as people in comic fandoms or things like Transformers do. Thinking about it that way just makes it easier to accept that the FF characters are different, that they aren't in the same worlds they were before. KH is something that can be taken on its own, no connections necessary.
