origins of odie

when we got stitch, we held this one ferret that was in a cage alone. he was cute, but kind of nippy, so i went to hold some others. derek and erik both really wanted the isolated guy, but i fell in love with a little chocolate female, and she became stitch. so today mom and i, along with erik and his buds, went to get a companion for her. the *same* ferret was by himself in the cage. as it turns out, the other ferrets were being too rough with him, so he was separated, and he was only nippy because no one had been handling him.

i couldn't leave him twice, so we got him. he's odie, and he's a complete sweetheart. he barely nips, and he snuggles like you're the greatest thing on earth. he's a lot bigger than stitch, but it's her that's the aggressive one. go figure.

anyway, that's that. they're stand-offish when in the cage together, but when out playing, they're fine. i suppose they'll get over the cage thing eventually too. they napped on each other earlier in the playroom; i nearly melted with the cuteness. *^_^*

so... anyone know if they're doing alright? will they warm up to each other more with time? i'm just a ferret newbie, after all...
