Gaming. Sigh.

I have a confession to make. I absolutely, completely, utterly SUCK at first person shooters. This lapses over a bit into any game that uses 3D control instead of 2D and/or keeps the camera tight on the character. For example, I kicked ass at Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (2D, loose camera), I'm decent at Super Mario 64 (2D, tight camera), and I can survive Silent Hill 3 (3D, loose camera). What happens when I try a 3D controlled game with tight camera, you ask? Especially one with no easy mode?

Oh, Resident Evil 4. How I want to hug your bloody body and strangle you at the same time. So far, I've done just good enough to make it through what's been thrown at me, but I'm always, always, ALWAYS out of health stuff. It freaks me out something fierce. I keep double-saving just in case I screw myself over with my rapid item consumption and tendency to miss lots of stuff while I run and flail and scream - in other words, my own suckitude. Odds are I'll end up deserting it in favor of an RPG (my PS2 controller is too borked for me to play anything that's not turn-based right now, and my Wii action options are limited) within the next week.

Hmmm... Disgaea or Nocturne? Decisions, decisions...

I heard you bummed the fox...

I heard you'll bum anyone silly for loose change.

yeah, that's pretty much true

STRANGELY ATTRACTIVE.

Wait... aren't LoI and Super Mario 64 both 3D?

Also: Disgaea.

They're both 3D games with 2D controls - you push left and your character goes left, you push up and your character goes up, as opposed to 3D controls like you get in a lot of shooters and survival horror, where you push left and your character turns to his left, you push up and your character moves in the direction he's facing.

Alright, that's one for Disgaea. Given how much time I've sunk into P4 lately, I should probably branch out from the SMT games a bit anyway.

Believe it or not, my vote goes to Disgaea, because there's a better chance of you liking it. Nocturne really isn't for everybody.

Disgaea it is!

I finished Apollo Justice last night - I was wincing and grinning alternately. Most obvious plot twists ever, y/y? But Klavier was awesome, so. That saved it a bit.

Disgaea, because I will feel less stupid about spending hundreds of hours leveling up weapons if you do so too! :)

Me: Hey, Cathy voted Disgaea too. Check it.
Jaime: *reads* If you spend hundreds of hours, I'll get you.
Me: Pffft, I'll play until I'm satisfied!

I've only spent an hour or so thus far, but I'm enjoying it already. :D
