First Day Jitterbuggin'
So I'm sitting in the Student Union, having already eaten lunch, and enjoying the wireless. Jaime's in class at the moment and I haven't heard back from Dr. J yet. Thus, I'm just kind of chilling. Any other time, I'd probably go knock on my advisor's door and ask what's up, but since this is the first day, I don't have a desk assigned yet, and it'll probably take a decent amount of time to get me settled and figure out how I'm starting my research, I don't want to just barge in when he's not prepared. I guess I'll wait it out for now. My only class today is already over and consisted mostly of reading the syllabus, so despite the subject line, I'm actually quite relaxed. I do have some not fun phone calls to make in a bit, but for now? Cruisy.
Just for reference, my schedule:
M: on campus 9.5-16; in class 9.5-10.5
T: on campus 7.5-17; in class 7.5-8.5, 15-17
W: on campus 7.5-16; in class 7.5-8.5, 9.5-10.5
R: on campus 7.5-16; in class 7.5-8.5, 15-16
F: on campus 9.5-16; in class 9.5-10.5
If I'm not around, that's whar I be.
And finally, for my own reference, my to-do list for today:
-Look at textbooks and software - textbooks still aren't there, and I need an external hard drive to clear up some space + $170 for the software. Yargh.
- Buy notebooks and leads - not yet. The bookstore's prices were crazy. I'll pick some up at Target or Walmart.
-Call dentists - called three; tentatively selected one - need to check with Jaime for second opinion. approved! Appointment scheduled for tomorrow, as early as possible after my first class.
-Call SMHC - mostly done - I need to be there at 10.75, which might be cutting it a bit close. I'll ask Jaime his opinion once he's out of class, then if needed call and attempt to reschedule. Since the lecture that day is on Matlab, which I already know pretty well, I'll duck out five minutes early and catch a bus up to the Health Center.
-E-mail about paper schedule - I will, I will... Sent!
- Watch for advisor's e-mail - Still am. Still no response. :/
Addendum:
- Target or Walmart! :D Lunch was way too pricey and located up a steep hill that is incredibly unpleasant to scale. So. Jaime and I are going to go look for lunchboxes. I'm already angling for Hello Kitty, complete with thermos. I'm a badass, you see. And very mature. Yes.
I think that's about it. Time to get started, I suppose.
