and now, to start off 2004 on the right foot, a tetrad of true joe snippets.
scene01: while playing simpsons clue, derek decides to pull out the japanese for insults.
derek: oh yeah? shut up, baka akachan.
me: i am not an idiot baby.
derek: tch, idiot baby? you mean stupid baby. nobody says, "idiot baby."
joe: your mom did.
scene02: still playing clue. derek leans forward to show mom a card to disprove her suggestion.
derek: hey! you're trying to look at my other cards!
mom: i am not! why would i want to look at anything of yours?
joe: and wouldn't you need a microscope for that?
scene03: up in mom and joe's room, waiting to watch the fireworks over the casinos downtown.
mom: you know how celine deon's big vegas show was having problems? since the seigfried and roy incident, her show has been regularly selling out.
me: i guess people figure that they may as well just go see that bitch that sang the titanic song.
joe: or maybe they're hoping she'll get attacked by a tiger too.
scene04: still up in their room, now watching the fireworks.

joe: nah, it's warmer.
