rinnia | for the record

i hate the rinoa/ultimecia theory. absolutely despise. it goes against the whole message of the game, and there's loads of proof against it. this post is not about delving into that, though. i just need to say that one of the reasons i personally dislike it is that i cannot see rinoa being an evil character.

with one exception.

if they put rinoa into kingdom hearts 2 *crosses her fingers*, number one - they had best let her and poor leon reunite. it would make me squee like the fangirly that i am for those two. and number two - she should kick some ass. too many people read bad circumstances for her as a result of some weakness of hers. just because she fell into a terrible situation doesn't mean she's weak - every sorceress possessed by ultimecia was helpless to her. not just rini. yeesh.

anyway, i'm getting away from my point. what i want to say here is, the only way i could justify rinoa being evil would be in a kingdom hearts 2 context. perhaps the heartless are using her. she is, after all, a very powerful sorceress.

so what do i want?

i say, let her be controlled by the darkness. let her switch to their side, convinced that if she works for them, they will let her see squall again. give her incredible powers, and set her loose on sora and the rest. bring on the difficult boss battle! and just when you've knocked her down, let squall run in. let her break through the control of the darkness and be awakened to the truth by the sight of her love once more.

and then let them embrace, and finally be together.

... and that's my two cents.
