Sharpton is preoccupied with race.
Oh please. Mr. Sharpton, in case you hadn't noticed, TMZ was not singling Beyonce out due to her race. They mock the fashion choices of all people with no regard to color - as all people should! Honestly, it wouldn't have even occurred to me that there might be some brouhaha over using "ho" in reference to her until you brought it up. To me? She's just another one of the tackily dressed Hollyhoes.
You see, Mr. Sharpton, I try to be colorblind. Actually, that's a bit of a lie. I don't have to try. I think people are equal regardless of race, and you know, regardless of gender and orientation as well. I saw nothing wrong with using "ho" in a mocking sense because I didn't see it as OMGKEEPINGASISTERDOWN! I saw it as mocking a skankily bad fashion choice by a celebrity. Nothing more.
One more point, if you please, Mr. Sharpton. I think it's ridiculous that you take offense with the words "ho" and "bitch". I have a little red plaid skirt, and it is a ho skirt. I wear it when I'm feeling skanky. It's actually kind of liberating - I'm allowed, in this day and age, to dress like a ho if I want to without being one. I also refer to myself as a bitch frequently. It's like when a guy's being a dick - argumentative and know-it-all. Bitch works well for me. Plus, I'm fairly sure neither "bitch" nor "ho" is an exclusively racist term. You can't fight them on those grounds. Continue your fight against the n-word if you must (though I'd argue that freedom is better served by simply ignoring those that say things you don't agree with. Don't give them attention, and they won't affect you.), but leave the b and h out of it.
Thanks for your time.
Just one white-as-Wonder-Bread bitchy ho,
Alex
