Reprise!

Up at 4:30, on the road at 5:30, in Tampa at 7:30 so Jaime could get scans for restaging. PET and CAT, which meant fasting for him until they were done at around 1:30, and even though he calls me crazy for doing it, fasting for me too out of solidarity. His port's not approved for use with the power injector they had, so they had to put an IV in him with an especially big needle to accommodate the CAT scan stuff. Due to the blood clot on his right side, he's only allowed to have stuff done to his left arm. His elbow veins were tapped from other draws, and his hand veins didn't cut it either. They ended up putting the IV on the inside of his wrist. He couldn't move his hand or else it would poke him. Not cool. He also had to drink gross smelling contrast fluid for the CAT scan. He said it tasted vaguely orange. The scans themselves went quickly and smoothly, and when he came out after the last one with his wrist gauzed and wrapped up, I teased him and told him to "Cheer up, emo Jaime." It was less funny when, as we were walking out, blood started running down his hand. It soaked clear through all the gauze and some of the wrapping layers. A fresh dressing fixed the problem. We went with Adam to a nice little Japanese place for lunch afterwards. It was delicious like you wouldn't believe.

So, once again, we literally just walked in the door. And once again, I am le tired. If this goes anything like last time, I'll probably crash early this evening and mess up my sleep schedule once more. I'll catch up on stuff and respond to comments tomorrow or Saturday, I promise!
