B-B-B-Benny and the Jacksssss
So I mentioned in the post before this that my household consists of me and my three boys. One would be Jaime, who, if you're familiar with this journal, you're likely to be familiar with. Another would be Jacks, our adorable little corn snake, who I never posted pictures of. Let's remedy that:

That's Jacks soon after we got him, exploring his new home. He actually doesn't have that log hideout in there anymore - it was replaced with a half-coconut that has only one small entrance/exit. He loves that freakin' coconut. We have to put it in his feeding tank to get him to feed happily now. He's coco-loco.

Oh shit, I think he spotted us!

Checking out the view from his climbing stick. That stick is the best reptile accessory you can get, I swear. Every little cold-blooded critter loves it.

And this is Jacks now! He's a little thicker, a little shinier, and a lot more chill - personality wise, not temperature. In fact, he actually likes it warmer than most corn snakes do. Floridians; what can you do? Anyway, the issue with attempting to photograph Jacks is that I don't want to use flash, as it startles him, and he's a very curious guy, so when he's out and about, his head is never still. Case in point: this photo. But lookit that tiny tail! Aww.

You can see the neat iridescent shine to his belly in this one. In addition to being a complete sweetheart, he's such a pretty guy. <3

I think this is the best photo I managed to snap of his head. You... you can kinda see what his face looks like, right? He's a doll, he really is. Impossible to photograph, but cute as heck.
And since it's so tricky to get a good picture of him, here's a bonus video, taken shortly after we brought him home from the reptile store:
And the last would be... well, you see this adorable dog? You see the status listed next to his name? You know why that is?

That's why. Meet Benny, our pup!

Don't let that lazy look fool you. He's a complete shadow - everywhere we go, he follows. And though we may be his parents and thus the ones he seeks out the most, it's not just us; he's a total people dog. Every single person he spots is the most exciting thing he's ever seen. Slightly annoying when attempting to walk him, but awfully endearing too.

Watching birds behind the apartment. He doesn't chase them. Just watches. Squirrels that dart across his path about a foot away, on the other hand...

:)

Trotting through the cluttered part of the living room. I like how pretty much everything on the table is my fault: the chai tea, the purse, the cookies and milk... Sorry 'bout that, Jaime. Ahem. So, Benny's surprisingly good with our stuff. He really doesn't mess with anything that isn't his. Except the couch. He sleeps on the couch after we go to bed. The fiend.

His favorite state of being - upside-down. All it takes is some petting, and he flips right over for belly rubs. His ears consistently turn all awesomely Batman-pointy when he's, as Jaime calls it, "pupside-down". He does this wiggle thing on his back, too, where he kicks and squirms all over the place. It's hilarious. I'll try to catch it on video sometime.
Dude. Pet ownership. I love it so much.
Speaking of additions to our household, we just bought a new TV. An HDTV, even. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm already psyched about it. You know why? Because we got it so we can get a PS3. And we're going to get a PS3 so I can play FFXIII. Yeah, I know, I'm obsessed. At least I have a hobby that makes me happy, I guess? Right?
Snake. Dog. FFXIII. And, of course, Jaime. The home life, oh, it is sweet.
