Lightning speed!
Scratch that - the radiologists say he's normal. This means? Shunt time. We talked a little with some neurologists, and I'm actually feeling better about the whole deal. He'll only need to have it worked on if his headaches come back, because that would mean it's clogged and has to be fixed. Otherwise, even if it clogs up, if the pressure isn't a problem anymore, the shunt will just hang in there and not do anything. Given his positive responses to the Diamox and lumbar punctures, they think this should alleviate his headaches and fix his vision. Jaime asked how long it would take for the symptoms to go away, and the boss guy said, "Not very long. Not days or weeks." So that's reassuring.
Jaime's tentatively scheduled for surgery on Monday, and they said he'll only have to stick around a day or so afterwards. Here's hoping.
