All these years, I thought Kitnee was the orca. What a world.
The 30 Day Video Game Meme!
Day 04 - Your guilty pleasure game

I have a thing about underwater creatures. They're just awesome. So yeah, like most young girls, I went through a big dolphin phase. I tried to play the main series Ecco games (thank you, Sega Channel!), but I never finished them. It wasn't that they were too hard (though they were); it was that the idea of drowning to death freaked me out immensely. Sharks (and aliens) attacking me I could handle, but a constant ticking meter counting down to my adorable dolphin avatar's death? It was too much. I did try playing with cheat codes to turn the oxygen meter off, but then I felt like... well... a cheater. I just don't game that way.
So one day (again through the magic of Sega Channel), I discovered Ecco Jr. You get your choice of characters (including an orca), your tasks are mostly adorable and often include other sea animals who are babies or your friends or both, and you can't die. Repeat: YOU CANNOT DIE. Even though I was older than the target demographic and well-versed in more difficult games, I fell in love with it and I played it over and over. And over.
And over.
... I just played it on Virtual Console less than 24 hours ago.
