So! Guess what game got an iPhone port?

Oh baby.

It's $18, which gave me pause for about five minutes. Really, it's one of my all-time favorites; how could I resist? They revamped the battle system to work on one screen, and this might be sacrilegious, but I'm not sure which version I like better. It's just that good. Mingling's going to be a bit more troublesome this time around, but that should only bother psycho completionists like me, really. All in all, it's pretty epic. And fun. Obscene levels of fun. Damn, TWEWY's still good.

$18, though. Seriously, Square? You couldn't have scraped that down to $10? At a lower price point, I'd talk everyone I know into buying it, but when you're dancing near $20... phew. That's a hard sell.

Holy crap, you guys. I made a Kane/Toews rec list. And it is HUGE.

Speaking of pairings I'm way too invested in, I encountered a Skyrim glitch the other day that actually worked in my favor. Many of the NPCs you meet in Skyrim you can marry if you're wearing the proper amulet and they're friends with you. For most of them, building a friendship is as easy as completing a quest related to them. The one character I had my eye on for a hubby, Quintus Navale, has two quests connected to him. I don't know why, but at some point I decided he was absolutely the one and only true love of my character. So when the game appeared to have glitched me out of obtaining his second quest (and thus removing my chance of marrying him), I was heartbroken.

I kept playing, though, and I bought a level-up perk that lets you invest in shops. Since Quintus is a shopkeeper, I figured I could at the very least show my platonic support of him. After I handed over 500 gold, though, a funny thing happened. I'd been wearing my Amulet of Mara for a while, just to see which characters were interested in me, and suddenly Quintus was one of them. Without ever getting his second quest. I don't know what flag got flipped incorrectly in the game or how, but investing in the shop turned him into a marriage prospect.

So I said I liked him. And we got married. And he's living in my house in Riften.

Seriously, I can't count the number of times I've had to reset because I sank into a mountain or a key item was knocked irretrievably behind a table or a quest item got stuck in my inventory... actually, that one's usually not fixable with resetting. I'm stuck with Finn's Lute and Pantea's Flute forever, it seems. Anyway, the point is, I'd never encountered a glitch I liked. Finally, the game's bugginess worked in my favor.

And yes, this means Nurelion's death never happened. He's still "asleep and dying" in The White Phial, while Quintus is baking me apple pies in Honeyside. Love it.

... I actually came close to crying with joy when I got to marry Quintus. I mean, I've sunk over 200 hours into my main character, and I'd been hoping to marry him for at least 150 of those. So. Happy.

Ashley, Dave, and Chad draw amazing things. Seeing their stuff made me want to draw things. Less amazing, granted, because those three are wowzers, but still things. And so I did!

Comics: My Life is Not Interesting )
Fanart: Shirtless Boys Kissing and a Teenage Demon )

By the way, what's the commonly accepted behavior when it comes to fanart? Do you let the author know you drew some, or just leave it to float on the internet? Which path is less rude?

FFXIII-2 is fucking fantastic. The plot is good, the gameplay is good, and Hope! I loved him in the first game; he's been my PS3 background since I unlocked that theme. It's really great to see him ten years later, all grown up and hot successful. Seeing Serah come into her own was great as well, and I can't help but love Noel. The ending left me a bit stunned and annoyed, but I'll probably be first in line to buy XIII-3, so good job, Square, I guess. Oh, and I love the rambunctious chocobos. Not only are they awesome and pretty, their music is BADASS. And hilarious. Pretty much the greatest song ever.

In other news, I totally ship Noel/Hope. Started out because they're both so lovely, but now I have legit ship reasoning. Sigh.

In other other news, I've been oddly productive today. Working on plush for [livejournal.com profile] ontdcreepy's Spring Crawl, cleaning the kitchen, unpacking the most gorgeous doll ever, finishing my art for [livejournal.com profile] originalbigbang's Reverse Bang... help me keep this going?

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] anglepoiselamp:
1) Name a fandom. Or two. Or ten. However many you want!
2) I'll draw a picture of my favorite character from said fandom.

Ready? Go!

Edit(11:45pm): I'll start this thing off with some fandoms Jaime suggested: Mythbusters, Persona 4, Community )
Edit(3/4): Have some Glee and FFXIII-2! )

THIS SPLIT IS NOT GUARANTEED - I'm waiting to make sure I don't take a huge loss with the mini P4 split before I commit to this one. However, I'll take claims now and simply wait to order until I'm sure I can do this.

Interested in getting one of these cute fellas?

Oh goodness. Too much drama, both online and off. Let's focus on the good instead!

Fun Things I've Done Lately by Alex Smith, age 27 )

Side note: I'm looking to a) draw a Glee/Star Wars poster and b) make some humanoid plushes. I'm already working on Squall, Rinoa, Souji, and Yosuke, but any other suggestions for people to plush would be awesome. As far as item a goes, what do you guys think would be the best poster to parody? It's gotta have Luke, Han, and Leia, of course, and ideally I'd like to get Chewie and Obi Wan in there as well. Thoughts/links?
