Oh goodness. Too much drama, both online and off. Let's focus on the good instead!
( Fun Things I've Done Lately by Alex Smith, age 27 )
Side note: I'm looking to a) draw a Glee/Star Wars poster and b) make some humanoid plushes. I'm already working on Squall, Rinoa, Souji, and Yosuke, but any other suggestions for people to plush would be awesome. As far as item a goes, what do you guys think would be the best poster to parody? It's gotta have Luke, Han, and Leia, of course, and ideally I'd like to get Chewie and Obi Wan in there as well. Thoughts/links?

Score this design: "Family Resemblance," to help it get printed on Threadless!

Vote for me? Please? I'm planning on throwing at least one other design into the ring this week, so. Um. Hope you all like Threadless!

I'd use a lot less conditioner, too.
Jul. 25th, 2011 03:34 pmSo I'm considering getting something radically different for my next hair cut. Right now, I have a curl bob going, but I kind of want to ditch it in favor of Melanie's cut. What say you guys? Am I insane? I mean, it's just hair, right? If it doesn't suit my fat little face, I'll have a good excuse to wear lots of awesome hats until it grows out. Win/win?
Oh, and this is too cool for school.

- I buy frivolous things.
- Glee has the best cast ever.
- Caroline is the best anything ever.
- L.A. Noire is so delicious that I can't even begin to put it into words. I've forsaken sleep in favor of playing more than once. Unf. Also, I'm convinced that everyone wants to sleep with Phelps. It makes the game far more humorous.
- In one day, I took care of dishes, cleaned the bathroom, played video games, did some writing, and painted my nails (OPI Gleek Out + China Glaze Black Crackle). A far cry from sleeping for 16 hours and spending the rest of the day moping and shaking. Yay for brain cooperation?
- New techniques I'm picking up: painting with acrylics (mostly toy face customization), wig treatment (including cutting and styling), sculpting with polymer clay, and digital painting/coloring. Up next: glass etching!
- Also, I'm now collecting Tangled stickers. Apparently, I'm not just a dork; I'm a five-year-old dork.
- On that note, anyone here involved in toy buy/sell/trade stuff at all? My WTB list right now is as follows:
--- Tokidoki Cactus Pups vinyl - Bastardino Jr.
--- Disney Store exclusive Rapunzel and Flynn dolls
--- Custom bait dolls - Pullip preferred, but I'm open to other types
- We bought a giant freakin' bean bag at a thrift store for $50. Jaime and I can fit on it at the same time. It is absolutely glorious. And the dogs love it.
- Jacks is now consistently eating fuzzies instead of pinkies. This pleases.

Life, whyyyyy?
Apr. 6th, 2011 06:48 pmExam tomorrow. Presentation tomorrow. Aaaaaah.
Let's think of bright things instead, shall we? So, Chris Colfer is simultaneously the definition of adorable and the coolest person ever. I think he's officially replaced Lambert as my imaginary bestie. Oh, and Pullip Style actually has some in-stock Squalls. Outside of my price range, yes, but still quite pretty to look at.
What else, what else...
Kilts! Some hot, some haute, some just hilarious.
I finally got myself a Dreamwidth - I'm Rinnia on there as well. I'm hoping Livejournal doesn't bite the dust anytime soon, but just in case...

Jan. 25th, 2011 09:47 pmOh my god, you guys, RuPaul's Drag Race is back! I kind of had a super-early favorite going into it, and now that I've seen the first episode? ( Spoilers for said episode! )
Mmm, and the stubbly new pit crew member? Mmmmm. Approved.
Not approved, however, is this (HORRIFICALLY SPOILERY FOR FFXIII) FFXIII-2 trailer. The fact that there's going to be a sequel at all pisses me off, as XIII was a complete story. It didn't need elaboration. It especially didn't need elaboration in this particular form. One of the things I loved about the first game was the delicate balance it struck between celebrating and deconstructing RPG conventions. This trailer portrays the sequel as some very... standard anime/JRPG woman warrior thing. I don't know. There's no guarantee that the game won't be fantastic (though I'm doubtful since, as I said before, XIII was a complete story in and of itself), but the way they're choosing to introduce it makes me uncomfortable. Why you do this to me, Squenix?
I've been boosting my wardrobe pretty heavily lately, including many additions from Threadless, the most recent of which arrived today along with this sticker sheet:

I couldn't find this particular set scanned anywhere and I figured someone else might be interested in seeing it. For the curious, the shirts referenced are, left to right, bottom to top: Case Study #48: Bunny Family Anomalies, God Hates Techno, Cookie Loves Milk (which I own :D), Funkalicious, Runnin' Rhino, and Peace.
Now if I can just get to a Zara and manage to find this Kurt hat, I may explode with style-y happiness!
