On a completely different note, I had hard liquor for the very first time today. Mom, two of her work friends, Loni and Rhonda, and I went to the Gold Dust West and had Chocolate Cake shots at the bar. Interested?

1/2 shot Frangelica
1/2 shot Vodka
Lemon wedge with sugar

Mix the liquor, drink it down, and bite into the lemon. Absolutely awesome, I tell you. It tastes just like chocolate cake. Freaking amazing.

I got ID'ed as soon as we sidled up to the bar, and since Mom mentioned that it was my first drink at a bar, the bartenders were yelling happy birthday at me the whole time. For the special occasion, the bartender made ours double shots, and I still ended up drinking two. After that, we went to get lunch at the restaurant in the casino. I thought I was going to fall over when we first stood up, but I kept my balance respectably. Mom later said you couldn't even tell I'd had anything to drink.

Lunch was very tasty. I had beef stroganoff and a dinner salad, plus we all munched onion straws and battered mushrooms for appetizers. I also downed like three glasses of water - I think that definitely helped my head.

If anyone's curious, just for the record - I get really quiet when drunk. I honestly was concerned that I'd be really really loud, judging from my usual personality, but I guess I overcompensated and got silent instead.

My head hurts a bit now, but I suppose that's to be expected after one's first encounter with hard liquor. Especially when said encounter includes two full shots of vodka. And hey, I didn't even nap this afternoon. I'm so proud of myself.

P.S. George, I kept saying how proud you were going to be of me. :D
